Cadron Creek Float - Tomorrow Saturday June 6th

Post by Jim Krueger » Fri Jun 05, 2009 8:00 am

Several of us are planning a float tomorrow from Hwy 65 to Hwy 285.
The stream is at 3.46ft. this morning so I figure it should be fairly nice.
This is a 10 mile class I-II section with some of the most scenic bluff views on the creek. At this point, I think we will be meeting at the 65 bridge about 10 am to unload boats and run the shuttle down to 285.
If any others are interested, pack a lunch&drinks and join us! (shuttle assistance always appreciated :)

I'll be away from the board most of the day but will check in this evening.

Best Regards
Jim

P.S. Cowper, or others, anyone heard if the Faulkner Co. rescue boat was ever recovered or should we still keep and eye out?

I'll be there with Peggy Tilley and her son, Clay, Lea Charlton and her friend Gordon. Woohoo! We'll help with the shuttle however we can.

Hi Jim,

Dave & I would like to join this float also . . . we haven't been on the Cadron before, about how long does it take to get up there from Benton? After missing out on Rec. school last week-end, I'm ready for some river time!

Beth

It looks like a nice day and good trip tomorrow. At this point we have a fairly large group so it should be even nicer with all the opportunities to visit and paddle along! The level continues to fall but I feel it will still be about 2.75feet by put in time which is the lower end of optimum in Tom Kennon's river guide, low but still a foot above his minimum recommendation. It's a rather long trip, and with the warm&clear skies tomorrow, I will certainly be bringing a little extra cold water to guzzle :) I would figure about 5-6 hours on the river at current levels, including lunch stops and cooling off sessions.

See you all in the morning.

Best Regards
Jim

Jim,
I would like to join and can offer a shuttle (pick-up truck). Could use a large group to watch out for me (very green). Is put-in just north of bridge? Will try to call you in am. My number is 501.425.7070

Mark,

If you're coming up 65 from the South you'll passover the 65 bridge then on up the hill, take the right turn at a Game&Fish access sign then the little road goes back down the hill to the underside of the bridge where you'll find a parking lot, ramp, and us :)

Jim

Yes, the north side of the river, east side of the bridge.
