As a kid an old paddler gave me a book after the first time I ran the cossatot falls. It was loaded with kayaking comics and funny drawings (although not really a "kids" type book) but I managed to have lost it a few years ago when I moved. On the cover it had a famous painting of an old couple standing in front of their farm house but instead of holding a pitch fork he was holding a WW paddle. If anyone knows the name of this book I would love to know so I could pick it up again.

Zakkt, you are thinking about William Nealy. His book is Whitewater Home Companion: Southeastern Rivers Volume 1. Check Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Whitewater-Home-C ... 75&sr=1-17" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

depends which volume you had. on Volume II, SHE was holding the paddle on the front cover.

William Nealy's Whitewater Home Companion - Southeastern Rivers Volume II. By Menasha Ridge Press.

Check Alibris, ebay, Amazon, etc.

Eric

And despite what the cover says, some of us did call him Bill, Billy, or Billy-bob.
