Dierks
Does anybody know if Dierks will be running this weekend or not? It's been running all week I wasn't able to make it down there last weekend thought I might go if it was gonna run this weekend.

Re: Dierks
Looks like it will probably run through most of June - Tiffany (Corps of Engineers) said they were expecting to be releasing into July. It may not be at full flow like it is now, but it will be there. You can play on the features all the way down to 300 cfs. 500 cfs is perfect because the eddy service is good at the first hole, my favorite! Anyway, the lake is at 544.89 right now and they have to get it back down to 526.5. They have a long way to go. You can look at the flow at Hwy 70 here:

I'll be down there this weeked since Rockport is still too high. We had fun last weekend.

It will be up. And I'll be there friday-sunday. See everybody there
Re: Dierks
Where can one find information about Dierks? Directions, Access locations etc. How long (distance) is this float?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Dierks
Thinking about going for a day trip Sat. Anyone else headed there from central AR?
I have not been to Dierks myself but here is some info:
http://www.americanwhitewater.org/conte ... l/id/2568/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Care of a Cowper post:
And for those thinking of asking where it is,
N34.14 W94.092 (Degrees and decimal degrees)
Even if you don't have a gps, most programs like MapQuest or Google Earth will let you "cut and paste" those coordinates, then help you pull up a map of the area. For mapquest, click on "find by lat/long", then enter the Lat as 34.14, the Long as -94.092.
Aw, heck, I can make it even easier:

Talked to Tiffany this morning. She says that it is running at 720 cfs. Should be at this weekend.

Re: Dierks
By the way if you haven't been here before the sign at the top of the ridge pointing down to Horshoebend was taken out by the tornado. If you are coming in on the Lake road, the one by the water treatment plant it will be the first road to the left past the plant. If you are coming in from across the dam it will be the first road to the right.
