Re: AT paddle ?
That's just but one of the reasons I put off purchasing a bent shaft. That is until I tried a Werner Player bent shaft. This paddle feels to be the most neutral of the bunch. I've only used this paddle a couple of times now, and as far as I'm concerned, I will only use Werner paddles from now until they quit making them. I still prefer my strait shaft Player on the steepies!

I too am a werner straight shaft only guy, turbo! You called it, on steeps it is the only way to go. More durable with the one piece continous shaft and direct feel of the water that I dont get w/ a bentshaft. I even started going w/ fiberglass blades b/c they break less than foamcore and flex more than straight carbon.(PLUS THEY ARE CHEAPER) Bentshafts are more trouble than they are worth unless you have wrist problems, and even then switching to a lesser offset straight shaft will usually fix the wrist problem. 30 or less has been sufficient to alleviate my wrist fatigue. I know AT bentshafts are standard issue for JK mafia members,
but for some folks its better to go with something else! The only paddle I'd trade my powerhouse for is a Jimistyk like Mackey's, however they cost a fortune and are tough to find used! Just my $4.20 cents
