Outrage X

Post by Shawn Reed » Mon May 18, 2009 4:19 pm

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a used Outrage X. I currently paddle Caption solo. I weigh roughly 240 and have recently found a desire to float harder and harder creeks or rivers. I looked and tried several different boats and as Arthur bowie has suggested the 13 footers seem to fit me better. I overload the smaller boats seems like though I am attracted to the smaller boats. I have heard the X is a pretty hot boat and after looking over sugar creek with a yen to run I felt my Caption would have a hard time fitting into some of those eddies. I have run the tot, hurricane and the usual II rivers and the cane and sugar are the places I would like to do more of.

Opinions? (I like the light so yakers please restrain).

Be a good boat for some like yourself. Being the X model, it probably will fit you to a T and the foot less in length will open up some smaller eddies for sure. With your skill set (as it sounds based on the rivers run), your transition to the boat should not be too difficult.
