Crossing Richland

Need to pull a bushhog to the west side of Richland tomorrow and wanted to go thru Snowball. Based on the Richland gauge, does anyone know what the height of the reflector is on the tree at that crossing?

I'm not familiar with the reflector. I've always said that if lower Richland was runnable (~2.3 feet), then it was higher than I wanted for a crossing at Eula. I tend to be conservative on water crossings; and a tractor is probably capable of much deeper crossings unless it is a small one. River should be about 2.5 tomorrow; so I think to know for sure you are just going to have to go look. Sorry I couldn't be more help...

Just general info for people who sometimes cross there... the relector is near the bottom of a tree trunk on river left. If you can see it, you can cross in a truck. I've crossed at 2.4 but was just checking to see about 2.5 or a little higher. I'll be pulling a trailer with the implement on it to get it to my tractor. I guess if I stall out, I'll just walk up and get my tractor to pull it out. If it's really high I'll just backtrac and go around.

By saying you're "going around".....I assume you realize that the road that goes into the wilderness area from Witt Springs...down to Falling Water road...then past the campground on Richland....is blocked by a big land slide? So, you "going around" will require having to get to Dickey Junction down to Eula from the north side.

Yeah, when the water's high we usually go in thru Lurton since the other road is blocked. Basically adds about an hour each way, which is why we sometimes try Eula even when it might be to high when we get there. Since the river didn't drop any last night, I'm just going to wait a day or so.

just making sure you know. But, with more rain expected, your wait may be a bit longer than a day or two.
