FYI - Shop Creek Access Report May 6, 2009

With plenty of daylight left yesterday and after smacking down some excellent grub at Cookies' Deer Cafe, Scott and me headed over to check the Shop putin.

The road going to the Shop Creek putin is well cleared of ice storm damage. The Natl Forest has constructed a gate by the county road there but the gate was open yesterday.

The putin trail is now blocked by ice storm debris. We checked and it looks like as in many other places the ice storm debris is mainly at the higher elevation and so maybe the first 50 or 70 yards of the trail is blocked by limbs and wood that can be drug over.

I think once you get below the ice storm damage the trail into Shop ought to be reasonably clear.

Its been several years since anyone has run Shop so I antipate there is wood in the creek somewhere.
