the bottom is going to make the difference in the two boats. use the edge of the hero. rocker would be a slower stop to me and the hero would be more like a play boat. the slideing action you are talking about is problemly like surfing you are to upright. my 2 cents.

I have an '08 Hero and love it. It has the edges like the Jackson FUN hull which actually makes it much "snappier" into eddies and I think also makes it a quicker boat maneuvering than all my other creek boats I have paddled. As previous post indicated , get it on edge and you will be in business. I think it gives great performance as a creeker plus added bonus of hitting eddies quicker with the small edges on the hull.

Stay with your Jackson, it just takes a little time to get use to the edges. I have a punk Rocker and love!!!!!!!!! It. I am only 100lbs though.
The Rocker seems to be a great boat have seen many boaters going to it,

I paddle an 08 superhero. I agree with the previous post about getting it on edge more. Thats what that edge is for. It is suppose to paddle like a playboat going down river, and just like playboats you have to be more aggressive in your techniques. If you try this and it still feels like your sliding out the back of eddies, instead of just snapping right into them. Move your seat forward, and lean forward as you cross the eddyline. Boats spin where your weight is centrally located.

thanks guys and gals .maybe just some getting used to.I am not trading or selling it. it took me to long to find a used one.i read on boyds blog that if you move the seat back it will stop the sliding, but i don't understand how .looks like it would make it worse .i will try the edge thing, maybe i just got lazy having a rocker

I've heard the green ones tend to do that a lot.

If it is any other color, then there is still hope; you might be able to get different performance by moving the seat forward or back, and by leaning more for turns. Experiment with different seat postions, and for sure try leaning the boat up on edge more when you want to turn.

But if it is green, there is no hope, just give up and let me get rid of the boat for you.

It do like yellow boats. That's why I never paddled Tracy's Yellow Creeker on Richland. Had it for Two and a half years before I ever paddled it anywhere though.
Richland also likes Blue and Green boats as well. And it seems to have an affinity for open boats of any color.
