THANKS JIMmore of that OKLAHOMA whitewater . who's whith me on tues.and mabee wdnesday ?any takers?

ahhhh...good ole pennington creek.

When I worked for the Boy Scouts in Oklahoma City, I was the director of Slippery Falls Scout Ranch for three years. The first pic is pennington creek running through slippery falls. The camp rangers house should be on the hill just above that drop.

My first experience in a whitewater kayak was on that creek. I paddled about a mile or so down from the scout camp and hiked out. I couldnt roll and kept flipping. This was the only creek I have been on where the fish have startled me while boating. I saw dozens of large fish (I can only assume gar) as they were long and skinny. Catching a quick glimpse of them in a boat was quite startling.

Didnt make it to Devil's Den but a year or so after I left the camp started a bouldering program there. Its hard to believe there is any whitewater in that section of Oklahoma.

Ricky, I might could make it down for an afternoon run if it goes. I could be there by 4:30 or 5pm on Tues or 3 or 3:30 on Wed. We would still have enough daylight for a run. I could maybe drum up another boater or two if it goes again.
