SALADO CREEK THIS WEEKEND 5/2-3/09

Post by CAPTAIN ALEVE » Wed Apr 29, 2009 6:42 pm

I'm guessing there will be water on both days this weekend and am counting on getting a run in on Salado Creek (Class II+) near Batesville (closer to Pleasant Plains). I hope Roger (or anyone else who can) will keep sending updates on the water level. There's rain in the forecast every day and the level is high right now (Roger said 7-8 stones), so I hope it gets down to a safe level at least by Sunday. Anybody interested?

We may even get to put in on a feeder creek if it is up. Does anyone know if the ice storm hit the Floral area hard?

Most folks might be at Canoe School this weekend Mike. We won't be at Canoe School due to a competition that the kids are in west of Hot Springs.

If we are back in Searcy by Sunday, I might be free for a Sunday afternoon run. It would have to be a 1:00 meet time.

If you don't see me back on the message board by Sunday morning, you can assume I'm in another part of the state and won't be able to make it. (we still don't know what we're going to do after the comp)

On another note, if you don't make it to SFLR or Hot Springs Creek on Thur. I'm hoping to be at Dragover thursday afternoon with Emily and the kids. Probably around 3:00. We should be setting up camp at Charleton by noon, eating lunch and then heading over to Dragover. You're welcome to join us.

I'm gonna be at White Water school on the Mulbery or else I'd love to go with you. Hope to go with you in the future. It's close to us here in Batesville and a lot of fun.

If you'll give me a phone number I can call you with a level when I cross it on Friday on my way down.

Looks like no water this time; the forecast is not looking good for putting any more water in the creek, either, before Saturday.
