It is but unless a bunch of rain fell in that particular area, it won't be a go.

It looked ok the other day at 4.3', think we'll give it a try. We'll cal ya'll.

Sight gauge on upper bridge was 8.5ish at 11am. Sunny and 65-70 degrees. Too bad all you suckers had to work today.

The Dodson tandem did great despite the stern man. Alyssa did a great job as bow man correcting Randy's inexplicable need to hit rocks. Maybe his new hair cut has affected his super powers.

New open-boater Chris Kuntz got to paddle a new stretch of water and did a great job, especially considering the highly unstable Outrage he was paddling. No offense to dedicated Outrage owners.

I am happy to report that my brief experiment with the dark side has had no impact on whatever open-boat skills I've managed to acquire these past several years (at least that's what I think).

The last series of floods has really altered the run below Bayou Bluff. One really nasty willow garden is now where the main current flows. You'll know it when you get there, red gate on river right on a cut bank.

Did any of the trees get moved with this last bout of rain? I floated it friday and had to portage 3 times due to to some pretty serious trees that completely block the river. And you are right about the willow garden. I stayed right and took the easy way out on that one.

I paddled it Friday, April 3. same trees were there and don't seen to have moved much if at all. Requires some good boat control to avoid. They'd be cut up and removed if they were on the Buffalo, I'd guess.

The two on a left-hand curve up from a huge rock/bluff could be serious strainers to the beginner/oblivious.

As Alyssa's homeschool teacher, I gave her credit for high adventure outdoor education with the principal. Today she has to do double math and grammar!

P.S. Alyssa told me that her dad must be the greatest stern-man since Lecky Haller.

I am willing to help move those trees if anybody is game.
