Post by goldenbrownchica » Sat Apr 11, 2009 9:09 pm

LOST THURSDAY APRIL 10.. LATE IN THE EVENING.. LOST SEVERAL BOATS OFF THE MINI VAN.. FOUND ALL BUT ONE.. LOOKED EVERYWHERE..

PLEASE NOTIFY JAMES.. ROBISON.. NO, NOT MY BOAT  ..

IT BELONGS TO CHRIS WING.. OF WORLD KAYAK FEDERATION..

FYI... IT MAY HAVE 36" TIRE MARKS ON IT.. ON HULL.. MAY NOT BE IN 1 PIECE AT THIS POINT.. SLIGHTLY MANGLED :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: .. YOU SHOULD SEE THE ALL STAR...

WILL POST PICS OF ALL STAR LATER..

BTW CHRIS WING IS AN AWESOME INSTRUCTOR IN SPITE OF NOT KNOWING HOW TO TIE SAFETY LINES ON HIS BOATS

I have Cole's contact info - I'll try to call him tomorrow. Hard to believe the boat is still there, but we'll see what we can do...

UPDATE - First, not looking good. Cole says the boat was against the concrete barricade, on I-440 somewhere past the Forche Pike exit as you head west. So this boat made it's bid for freedom several miles before the rest of the crew jumped ship. Cole thought he saw a hole in the side of the boat as he drove by. Cole couldn't stop as he was in a work truck; location makes stopping a hazardous activity. David Mac is going to attempt a drive by later this afternoon; if he can stop safely and if the boat is still there, he'll snag it.

Cross your fingers and hope that "hole" was really just road rash, but don't get your hopes up too much... :(

It's not there. Senior Billy and I just cruised through the whole area. Somebody musta known what it was to bother picking it up. Maybe they will check here to see who the owner may be. Maybe theirs a name and phone number in the hull.
We were hoping to see some indescribable carnage.

Waiting to see what the recovered hulls look like
