Engine theories

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on it to make it to the market, but an interesting concept:

My main concern, will I ever get to drive any of these? The website shows the ecomotor is winning awards, but it looks like maybe only one prototype has been built so far and is being tested. That's many years from market, as Gary hinted...

Been watching the Loremo's for a little while; they keep receding into the future. From their website:
"We are quite surprised to see that the Loremo is being well accepted in the US. Due to the complicated and instable regulations we will not offer the Loremo for US markets upon launch in 2009. Should the success and the future market demand from US markets enable us to offer the Loremo we will certainly do so in the next decade."

Elsewhere, they predict not 2009, but 2010 for the release in Europe. So that would make it sometime after 2020 for the US release.

Oh well, back to browsing the Subaru website and hoping for that 40+ mpg diesel Forester, maybe by 2011 in US??? Hopefully boat racks will only drop it into the low to mid 30's - for AWD, with reasonable ground clearance, I could live with that...

I'm still outraged :x that we can't get any toyota diesel trucks or landcruisers here as in the real world.
