Whitewater Clinic

April 18 & 19, 2009


The annual MWA Whitewater Clinic will be held the 18-19th of April 2009. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the clinic will begin 8:30 a.m. at Riverside Picnic area.

The cost is $75 for MWA members and $90 for non-members. Spaces fill up quickly so register as soon as possible. Basic whitewater skills will be presented in a safe environment with hands on experience. It is important to feel comfortable with your swimming ability in moving water. MWA can accommodate many different age groups, experience levels, and some physically challenged boaters. A nice meal is provided on Saturday evening at Riverside Pavilion.

We will need ACA certified instructors and safety boaters. Please volunteer early and often! This is one of the best events for membership at large to help the MWA with its mission. Please also send a clinic application to any paddlers you feel may benefit from the clinic. Club members have always been great about getting the word out about the clinic. We will need your help with this again this year. With your help we can make this one of the best clinics ever.

This year I am thinking the river will be 8 to 10 inches and 60 degree weather.
