bad bad day

Post by gfitzge7 » Sun Apr 05, 2009 10:37 am

So yesterday was an amazing day, except that towards the end, we had a boat get pinned on a rock that just still amazes me that it happened. about a mile and a half/ 2 miles up from turner bend. On may out to get it, but if anyone saw if it managed to get free or what not give me a call 479-200-6258.

Still amazes me that a small non rapid got the boat.
...Well I guess theres nothing wrong with what you say, but don't sell me their can't be better ways..

Saw a purple boat pinned on a rock with a red cooler tied and floating above it. Cooler looked fine but the boat was totaled.

I will just chalk it up to years on the water and bad luck having to strike at least once. Was not really in a bad spot just relaxing when the rock came up i was in the wrong spot and did not for some reason think it was an issue, but when my partner bailed out she did it on the upriver side and water came in the boat and i tried to get it going again, but it was too late. my fault for putting it where it was though. As for the rattler today he was just catching some sun where i needed to anchor my z drag in. I did not even think of it being a rattler till i heard the tail. He did not want to move, pretty lethargic. Really not as much damage as i thought. The bottom is fine the gunwhales are fine, just some breakage on the sides, but i have helped fix that befor, just happy that i do not have to buy a new canoe.

I came face to face with a copperhead one time, but my ending was different.
One of these days we will be able to run the Cadron without seeing a tire.

You must have got the boat after we went by Wednesday. It looked pretty mangled. We did check the cooler for beer though !

Good luck repairing it.

Got the two cracks filled already, going to put some resin and cloth over the bottom again, but she is good to go, she just can't ever have a close call again though or she is done for good, sorry there was no beer for you we made sure to get all we could out so as not to litter at all

I pulled this one back up primarily because of it's closeness to the pinned boat story current now.

First post got me with how similar.
You sure this is on the right channel?
