Friday 1730 TOT run Ed Banks to Sandbar, trip report...

Post by garyreinhart » Thu Apr 02, 2009 8:25 pm

Showed up at the Ed Banks bridge about 5 just in time to catch Bob (C1), Joe & his wife, (forgot her name...) getting ready to launch and asked to tag along. Thanks you guys, I appreciate you!!! Was pretty much my first whitewater run for many years in a new small boat. Very exciting and fun! I didn't hit every eddie I intended to but put in a clean run from the bridge to the Washing Machine. I felt like I needed a little more water and a little more time in my boat to do it though...
Thanks to Jody for the ride, and I know I will run into you all again!!!!!!!!!!

We are meeting with someone around 11:30 for a run, then back up with Michele, Nick H and crew around 2:30. I imagine we could be talked into another quick run, but you should go to the Falls area to look for shuttle - not Ed Banks. We might be in the Falls area around 5ish. My cell is 5013526804 - you will have to call some time between 8 and 10:00 because I'll probably lose signal around Salem.

heya Gary, you missed out man and I had to run half the river solo  Nice runs by all and the Falls were magnificent at twilight. Thanks for the poster of WhipLash! That was the only place I had a spill.Joe and I were trying to keep up with C1 Bob's stylin eddie moves in WhipLash and I started flipping after the first step,so I just layed down on the bow hoping to dart threw the last step without becoming hole bait,it work!Out of all the rapids yesterday WhipLash was the hardest for me handpaddle.Should of takin the race line instead of the first eddie  NOT! Sure was great seeing alot of yall that I haven't seen in forever, and to the new friends,See all you TotHeads next time!
