I do, alot!! The wife throws the "i dont want to go" card in and then they dont want to go. The kids go camping, hiking, mtb, paddling(in the summer) all the time. I think it's the wife, I know get rid of the wife. I dont want to, so what can i do??? Oh she cant stand paddling, but she's always smiling when she does go :?

Maybe she likes the paddling part, but doesn't care for roughing it. Try heading to a nearby city when you're done paddling. Stay in a hotel, go out to eat, and find stuff she'll enjoy doing.

I didn't have time for any recreation when I was married and had kids. Whew! I'm glad that's over!!

I find it hard to paddle and work. The water does not give a damn about weekends!

I've never had either. I can quote one Ex-GF type saying I loved my kayak more than I loved her. I said that couldn't be true, but we never shacked up again.

Then the trip went from 100.00 to 750.00. Dont have that kind of money!!!! I need to figure out what she really enjoys? I need some married women to chime in here, tell me what really pissed you off when you husbands went paddling? If he did get to go what in the heck was he doing correct to get your blessing.

I'm married and we both paddle and I even ROUGH IT  Oh, and the only thing that pisses me off when he goes is if I don't get invited :hammer: I know I can't paddle everything he does, but sometimes it's nice to go see and I'll run shuttle if I have to.

Uh, Renee...I believe ladies such as yourself are few and far between... Luckily for me I'm not married yet so I can hold out for a lass who loves to boat as much as I do and doesn't mind roughing it :)

KAYAKN good luck dude, I don't know what to tell you really. I know my father loves to boat and my mom will do it every now and again but doesn't care to rough it. What he did is made sure that he had enough camping gear etc to ensure that no matter what the conditions, she could be comfortable while camping with us. I can think of countless days where all of us went boating on a rainy day while Mom sat in camp by the fire (w/ plenty of split wood for her to throw on as needed) underneath a tarp with a good book. Mom still loves to camp and she very rarely has been anything less than totally comfortable. That would be the only suggestion I have for ya'!

I've got a wife who is a boater and who roughs it and it only really sucks when I can't head to the river with her.
