Saw a like-new purple Dagger Prophet on Woodlawn street(LR) this morning. Just curious if anyone knew the owner or if the owner lurks here. I know several paddlers who'd be interested if it might be for sale.

I'll bet that was Walter May's house. He has paddled Prophets for years & years & probably got a new one... Sorry!

I'd take that bet. Walter is the only open boater that lives on Woodlawn. Flanigan "Mole" used to live on the same street, but west of Fairpark blvd.

Ask Walter where the door went on the west side of his house. It had a couple steps leading into the brick facade. I remember this from bout Forty years ago playing in the hood.

Sorry, boys. Walter May lives on Walnut, I think, south of Lee. This house is across from the old Allied phone building. Also has a Rival. Am I a stalker or do I have Prophet envy?

He must have moved since I saw him last. His address is still listed as 4201 Woodlawn in the current phone book. Maybe he moved and let his wife keep the Woodlawn house.

One block west of the telephone company building.

Maybe I'll just ring the doorbell and put an end to the mystery. I helped plant trees in his yard about a month ago and drove by today just to make sure. He has a trailor full of canoes and some in the yard.

Ex-wife thing may be the answer.

Mole......They broke the mold after that one. :D

Haven't seen or heard from him in years. Last I heard he was out in CO.
Bob, you have any contact with Mole lately?

hum.....Walnut just south of Lee....sounds like Mike Beards house. Mike also had/has a trailor for boats. Doesn't paddle much anymore and I have no idea about him owning a Prophet or not. Also, his house on Walnut isn't across from the "phone building".....but Walter May's house on Woodlawn is about one block west of the old phone building at Woodlawn & Elm.

OK, let's clarify. The Prophet lives at the corner of Woodlawn and Holly. My mistake. Walter May's fleet lives on Walnut.

I hope these folks don't mind us talking about their boats. I bet if you looked up Walter's house on Google maps, you'd see the trailor of canoes.

 why are Walter's (WHO LIVES ON WOODLAWN!!!!) boats at Mike Beard's house (WHO LIVES ON WALNUT)???????????? :hammer:

Walter's house is at Woodlawn and Holly.

quoting Leghorn Foghorn...."boy, you're sharper than a bowling ball".

Sharper than a bowling ball. Ha ha ha ha! I gotta remember that one. Yup that'd probably be Beards fleet of unused boats. Walnut and C st. north west corner. I grew up a couple blocks away. I know the area. I believe Uncle Mikey Is retired now. I'll hafta go by sometime and stir him up. I'd bet he still has a black Perception Mirage hanging in his garage.

The Bob

Maybe he's shacking at uncle mikes now.

It's been a long week teaching the nation's youth about plant classification and reproduction and my brain is fried, therefore not reading posts with my usual at least proficient level of comprehension. Got my Moncots mixed up with my Dicots or something like that. I'm going home and taking a nap. Thanks for not calling me appropriately aimed derogatory names (other than the bowling ball reference) referring to my recent and hopefully short-lived lack of mental accuity and confusion.

Mike "Bullwinkle" Beard does not paddle much any more, but will be on the Mulberry this Sunday. Not sure which boat he will bring

A couple 3 things. 1. Mike Beard is not Bullwinkle, Max Wellhouse is. 2. That was Walter May's purple Prophet you saw. Paddled with him and his son Andy on Piney saturday. Tried to trade him out of it, but no go. 3. Ran into Jeff Embry of Atkins at Tom Young's Party on Indian Creek Sat. nite. Long story short, I now own a like new Red Prophet!!! This may lead to a membership application to the RBF. 4. If anyone has a Diesal for sale, I could do some more boat dealing, that could eventually lead me to an Outrage. Dale
