Weekend forecast for the Big Piney?

Post by Method Ham » Wed Mar 25, 2009 1:15 pm

Here's the national weather service forecast:

Tonight: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 9pm and 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 67. Calm wind becoming east southeast between 10 and 15 mph. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

Thursday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. East wind between 5 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 65. Northeast wind between 5 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Friday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 1am, then a chance of showers. Cloudy, with a low around 41. North northwest wind between 10 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday: A 30 percent chance of rain, mainly before 9am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. West northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Given that the river is now at +- 4.09, what do you predict the river level to be at Saturday? Looks to be chilly regardless.

I'd hate to postpone my trip this weekend, but I'm (apparently) running with a bunch of pansies!

Firstly, I predict no more rain, In-fact.....Drought  No more rain til fall is my guess. I hate rain

I figure with piney at 4.7 - 4.8 today and going down kinda slow that the river will at least be 3.0 on Sat. Enough for a good run for sure.

Add some rain in-case my prediction is wrong and I say about 4 feet or higher on sat.

so between 3 and 4 feet.
