I'm looking for some good thru-hull fittings I can use for my bilge pump system in my canoe. I went to Bass Pro today and found some, but they're huge. Basically, I think they are made for thick wall boats because the screw in part of it is pretty long, so it would stick out a little farther into my canoe than I want, almost over the outside part of my leg maybe. Does anyone know of any I could get where the horizontal section of the piping might be a bit shorter? Thanks!

Every time I see a dumb post like this I say man you should just get a kayak and problem solved.

At some point I will start attempting runs that will kick the crap out of me in an open boat, at which point I will decide it is time to even the playing field a bit, by jumping in a kayak. Or maybe I'll just tease you and C1 it for a while, hehehe.

Now, can anyone give me a response that is a bit more "useful"??

Ryan, I always just use the big ones like you found. My pump is located behind my pedistal, so I put the fitting near the front end of the rear air bag. The extra part of the fitting sticking through the hull has never been in my way. You may want to whittle down the part where the hose slips on. Depends on the inside diameter of your hose, I guess.
