I have never been to the tot. Was wondering what it was like above the falls. I have and open boat and plenty of experience on rivers like piney, upper mulberry in high water, boxley etc. What can I expect.
...Well I guess theres nothing wrong with what you say, but don't sell me their can't be better ways..

I am wondering the same thing. No matter how much I read about it. It seems the best way to know is to do it. I am planning on running soon. With in the next few weeks if I can.

Not familiar with most of the rivers in your experience, but I have done from Hwy 246 to falls campground. It is a step up from anything else I have done. Hwy 246 to Ed Banks is not bad, Below ED banks you first come to Zig-Zag, if you have trouble here get use to swimming, because next is the Esses. The Esses, I still ain't figured it out and its a long swim depending how far down you make it, also not very fun to portage. the rest of the rapids down to the falls campground consist of a drop or 2 followed by a nice pool aiding in recovery. Also from my limited experience on the tot, 3.5, 3.75, 4, 4.25, and 4.5 all seem completely different.
