Canoe School Camping

I called TB to see if I could reserve a spot for camping during Canoe School. I am told the ACC reserves it all. Excellent. So how do we make sure everyone gets a spot??? I'm a "First Timer", so I am unsure of how everything works. Thanks.

If you want a specific spot, better get there early.

Every year I see signs posted "This site reserved for xxxxxxx" not sure if this is legal or not. I am asking ACC leadership to post Club policy on this. In fact, I have been asked to move my tent cause I was not a member of the group that put up the sign. Rather than create hard feelings I moved.

I'd definitely like to see some sort of policy....just to ease the issue. Like we can make individual reservations with in the ACC of everyone on the official roster. I like a lot of people probably will not be able to get off work Friday to get down there for first come first serve. I think we all need eq. opportunity to get a spot. and I personally don't have a preference.....except that I'd like to be at TB.

You could be setting up in the back forty showing up late like that.

But thats not so bad when you want to sleep and nobody else does.

Word up

Club will reserve at least one spot for school HQ away from the pavillion on the east side. I think some years, chapters would have a shelter reserved. TB allows camping on both sides of the highway (not allowed during their regular schedule) during the school so there is usually room for anyone who wants to camp there.

In the past, there were some groups who would come in Wednesday/Thursday and set camp then go home with a reserved spot. They were there for the party. Not as much of that now it seems. Ask a bud who gets there earlier than you to save a spot. As long as one isn't claiming an acre or so  , I would not see much of a problem with that.

No worries Brandon,
We will have a pretty good-sized group and will be there early.
We'll be sure to save you a spot. Not too close to the fireball display though. :D :D
I'll be seing you in a couple of weeks at TB and give you a general idea of where.
If the water is up Sat/Sun give me a holler.
