fyi re: older model Shred Ready helmets

I have a Shred Ready Vixen helmet which I love because it fits my small head quite well, and the "HOG" ratchet system really locks the helmet in place. Unfortunately I had an early model which didn't use stainless steel parts in the ratchet system and I was worried the ratchet system would stop working as it had become quite rusty. The good news is if you have one of these older Shred Ready helmets, Shred Ready will send you a new ratchet system with stainless steel parts for free. Just wanted to let folks know about this.

I was a :chicken: and didn't want to drill out the old rivets myself, but Jeremy at OOO agreed to help me out and replaced the system for me. Now my Vixen is good as new again!

I cracked my first whitewater helmet in my first year of paddling, but my helmets are lasting a lot longer these days, now that I'm spending a bit more time upright rather than upside down! :D

Anyway - thanks both to Shred Ready for standing behind their product and providing the free upgrade, and to OOO for providing such great customer service, as per usual!
I've heard that into every life a little of it must fall,
but you'll never catch me complaining about too much of that southern rain.
