I will never forget the look on my son's face when I told him a guy named Fish had offered to give him a lesson or 2.
You sure this is on the right channel?

Trismegistus -- from its Gaelic origin it supposedly means "knowledge of all", but that may be a typo.

I wish Grant would get his own log in. Except when he posts something extra funny and I can take credit for it.

Signed,

Don't have a board name, but my favorite signature line:

c8mb, don't know about your handle, but I love the King Crimson avatar. I remember listening to that one (In the Court of the Crisom King) alot in my college dorm room along with Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix, Santana, The Moody Blues, etc. Not much studying gettin' done in the dorm room. Ahhhh, college....those were "The Days".

T.P.

Sorry, Fish. I was too busy having a flashback to answer. I like these: fryingsquirrel, farpastgone, damn rock, droopypaddle, yakin' off, eddy queen, riverslut, hole bait, h2ogasm, monsoon coming.

I'm going to have to go with damn rock as my fave, 'cause I identify with it so well.

The list would not be complete without "Bullwinkle"
Also one of my favorites,"Trismegistus"

This is Dennis Campbell. Some of you my know how I got my name but I thought I'd share. I had a big ol new wave mongoose that was, I think, 14'5" or so and was learning my licks at rockport. I thought the suckhole just was boring. So I'm surfing and havin fun as I rolled up a few times. Then It got me and started windowshading me. It blew the rec-skirt I had on the boat and sucked it down. I couldn't break the surface. So I kicked out and found footing right in the hole. As I tried to stand up, it washed my feet out and worked me. Every time I tried to stand and get my breathe, the same thing happened. But being new to the sport, I was out of air. Scott H kept telling me to ball up, but when I would go down, I couldn't stay long enough to get blown out. So finally Scott had to paddle in and get me. So I'm a recovered alcoholic and believe in keeping it really simple. Suit up and show up. Do the next right thing. Easy. But then Scott H., Joel(has anybody heard from them-I hear micah's rocking up there in Col.) and Muse helped me learn a very important life lesson that help me cover all life's rapids and I feel the need to share them with you. Ready? #1 suit up and show up
#2 do the next right thing
#3 STAT OUT OF THE SUCKHOLES!
I have been paddling for about two years and I really haven't found anything in life these rules don't cover.

I like fryingsquirrel, but twisted fister takes the cake. Probably takes alot of things. At least a lot of people's dignity.

Been in the club since about 1995 and the two names I saw early on that I thought were the 'Living End'; Amos Turnipseed and Horace Sheatt, just 'Salt of the Earth' great names and great humor I thought!
It was some years later when I actually met Amos, and you can imagine when I learned this is indeed our prez's name  Being a fan of The Ozark Mountain Daredevils in the 70s, I always remember the two old dudes on the 'Men From Earth' album cover, it made me wish for just such a name!
I never found out who Horace was though, sadly. Not even seen a post by him in years. Maybe someone longer a member could enlighten me sometime.

Best Regards
Jim Moose
