Try your hand at paddling a lifesize reproduction Keelboat built using authentic methods and tools by the Early Arkansas Reenactors on Saturday, March 7, 9:30 to 4pm. (Friday, March 6, it will be on show and tell for schoolgroups -homeschoolers are welcome.) Visit http://www.arkansaw.us" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to see more about the keelboat's construction.

Or, bring your canoe or kayak for a Spring bayou float on March 28, 10am. A few loaner boats will be available if someone needs one (please let me know in advance.) We'll meet at the Corp of Engineers Moore Bayou boat ramp and paddle up into Post Bayou, if its not too windy. Very windy, we'll paddle up the narrower and more sheltered Moore Bayou. Warning - if the temps are over 70, the gators are likely to be sunning. One of the big ones came out last Thursday and needed a little persuasion to get out of the road. How big? Check it out:
