Graves Creek

Post by jjones03 » Wed Feb 11, 2009 8:31 pm

Ran graves today and had a great time.... on thing i noticed, the first drop in the ampitheater was clogged up on the river left side by rocks and dirt. its always clogged on the right but now on the left too, the drop had to be completely portaged cuz of this. i dunno if some trees got stuck in there and stuff just built up on it or what, but just giving a heads up.

Hey Tim - I was wondering about the shuttle thing too and Lance clarified - they set shuttle at the campground and have to drive back out (onto 16) and back down to Falling Water Falls. I think you could probably set shuttle down to the low water bridge if you didn't want to go all the way around, but you cut off several miles of Falling Water. Some of the best rapids are at the end when it joins up with Richland - guess they did the long shuttle so they wouldn't miss any of the river.

Man, those are some freakin wicked drops!! The only question I have is, do you guys actually run that one in the second set of pictures that has the very small pools and big flat rock sitting at the bottom??

The fall in the second picture neither of us saw it coming. I looked back for a split-second and when i looked forward again jared was allready mid free-fall screaming drop!! everyone ran it fine. But for the picture second to last that was right on the otherside of the rock in the middle of the ampitheatre. Great pictures dean. had a blast. you got any of those pics of falling water?

Thanks, Jack H

I'll get those vids & pics of falling water up soon. Gotta upload em to youtube or webshots or something.
