Upper Little Mo Potential HAZARD

Post by Lifejacket » Tue Feb 10, 2009 11:03 am

Hiked in from winding stairs parking lot to do some fishing this weekend, and found a very nice sized Hardwood that had washed out of the bank. I calculated these coordinates in google earth N34 21'19.8 by W93 54'11.8 . It is not far downstream from where blaylock creek enters and is above winding stairs rapid. Not sure once the water comes up if there will be room to navigate around it or not, because the river is very narrow at this point. Also the potential for it and its big root wad to get washed downstream and hung in winding stairs rapid.

did you catch any fish? I hiked in to winding stairs two weeks ago and didn't even get a bite. I usually get several decent trout there during winter. Its a nice hole for smallmouths too once it starts warming up.
