Mulberry below Turners?

Post by JayW » Thu Jan 29, 2009 11:40 am

Hey guys I was told there is a good place to surf below turners bend on the Mulberry but did not get any info on it. I was wondering if anyone knew for sure?

Also how are the rapids compared to Hoopin Hollar?

Thanks
Jay

Hamm's falls is some of the best surfin below Turner on the Mulberry. It's a few miles below truner, about three miles up from Campbell cemetery. It seems to me that it is a little better at lower levels tha what it is now.

Have fun, Terry D

Ya that was the name of it.

Is it better than Hoopin Hollar? And how are the rest of the rapids, if there are any?

We are doing our whitewater clinic down on the Mulberry again this year and were thinking about doing the lower but would like to find out more info on it. If that is the only good rapid then we will probably stay on the upper.

thanks
Jay

Saw Horse? or did I make that up? Its been a while since I've been on it, lots of big pools.
It could be worse, it could stop raining

Maybe Rockin Horse a neat rapid for clinics but not much surfing action.

At lower levels between 2.5 to 3.5 on Turner Bend's gauge Hamns falls is a pretty good surfing spot, and yeah at a lower level i would have to say Hamns is better than Whoop & Holler, but at higher levels I would go to Whoop & Holler. Hamns is located about nine and a half river miles downstream from Turner Bend and 3/4 of a mile upstream from Campbell Cemetery.
