OT... hike in the Clinton area

Any ideas on some hikes not too far from Clinton? I am not familiar with trails on this part of the Buffy. Know of some places in the Fairfield Bay area. These will need to be a fairly easy terrain and trail... not serious bushwacking cuz it will be hiking 101 for Aly.. abou 8 months old. I'm sure I am forgetting the perfect place.

Clif, maybe too far but for consideration:
Hiking - Huckleberry Trail is 3 1/2 miles long and is rated as easy to moderate. We visited Woolly Hollow State Park, AR on November 4th, 2007 to hike the trail. It was originally constructed in the mid-1930s by the CCC and was restored in 1981 by the Youth Conservation Core (YCC). It is generally a narrow trail and didn't appear to have been heavily travelled. The park's web site also says (on June 9, 2008) that the trail crosses Lake Bennett's earthen dam. That may have been true at one time, but, if so, it's been a quite some time. The dam is completely overgrown with vegetation

Click on "park finder" on the top left
Choose "wolloy hollow" from the map
Go to the left of the page and choose "trails"
This is the one Roger is talking about I believe.

And while you are at it, hike the Cabin Trail. It is a side trail off the Huckleberry. Restoring it was my son's BSA Eagle project.
Hmmmm. I followed Linda's directions and it lists only the Huckleberry Trail. Its been 20 years since that Eagle project but I'll bet the Cabin trail is still there. On the Wooley Hollow home page you will see a picture of a cabin. The trail starts near the left front of the cabin as you are facing it.
Closer still but on private property is a four wheeler trail that follows the North Cadron on river left. Start at the 310 bridge and bushwhack downstream. You will cross a small stream on river left above Moo Poo. Continue down stream. As I recall you will soon pick up a fourwheeler trail. It will take you past the play spot and stops at Cathedral Bluff. The trail is used by hunters for access to dear stands. Again, this is private property and bushwhacking from the bridge.
If you are willing to go as far as Conway, there is a 1.5 mile trail at Cadron Settlement. Beautiful this time of year.

I only know about it because my work printed their t'shirts. If anyone else has info about this place I'd like to know- no one seems to have heard about it...

The old RR trail in Shirley is really nice, Clif. It starts next to the Shitake center.

I forget about the South Fork place. I knew about that. We have a nice Kelty kid carrier. Just don't wanna tackle too much bush, gradient or more than a couple of miles.
We have been doing places like
THESE. My friends saw the pics and they wanna go some places..waterfalls, rocks etc.... Those are at Pedestal Rox and blue hole special interest area in the ONF.
A few of the creeks in the area of Snow creek/Illy Bayou are 'sposed to be great waterfall areas... need water to fall tho and will be no trails.
Looking at Sam's Throne, too. Never been there... but that IS getting kinda far.

So the trailhead is by the outhouse?
