Team looked good last night. My big concern is that our 2nd year coach is looking like a VERY good coach and will be hired away by Kentucky in the near future if their current coach doesn't do well this year.

And albeit I'm not for lathering on more money -- especially for athletics -- I gotta to agree with you. Pelphrey's salary ($795,000 plus incentives) pales in comparison to what some other coaches are making -- Kentucky $2+million/year, Ohio $1.8 million, Texas $1.8 million, Kansas $1.6 million, etc. -- plus I really, really like Pelphrey.

Last night brought back some feelings of pride and excitement that I haven't felt for many, many years. Washington was awesome, Monk is back, Fortson is the best point guard in the nation and additional accolades go out to the rest of the team. If they keep playing like this I'll be missing some trips to the river during March madness.

Hey kitty, when Pel just got here he said he wouldn't go back home because he's already a star and could only fail in the eyes of the KY (hard core) bluebloods, but here he could rebuild this program. The foundation and the fanbase has been laid, but hopefully that wasn't just coach speak!

It'll be interesting to see what happens in march when Jeff Long tries to sweeten the pot and stiffen up Pelphrey's contract. Dan-o

Dan-o, my thoughts exactly. I think Long is going to do what ever he can to make his first few years a success.
