Low Water Upper Cadron Float Friday 12/19/08?
I'm becoming seriously concerned that my paddling gear is getting dry rot, and I know I am; I need to do something!
DeBo and I are considering a low water, upper Cadron Float (above Mill Road) for Friday. Probably a "crack of noon" start, but could move it up some depending on feedback from others. Roger, Kim, anyone interested?
Right now, the weather doesn't look like there is enough rain to bring any WW up; and there seems to be a "window" tomorrow when it will be breezy, but relatively warm (highs above 60) and not raining. Given all that, it looks like it might be a good day to go do some watershed monitoring, just to see what things are going on up there in the headwaters above one of our most popular runs.
I'll be away from the computer for the remainder of the afternoon, but figured I'd better get something up just to let folks start thinking about whether or not this would work for them...
Water should be suitable for beginners, if any of you are lurking out there - just don't come expecting an adrenaline rush of WW, it won't be that kind of trip... (although we can always create some minor adventures if anyone wishes to volunteer to slip and fall in, lock themselves out of car, leave shuttle car keys at put-in, or engage in some other tried-and-true adventure methodology)

Sorry Cowper, got one more day of school. Looks like rain on Saturday and then the temps go north!

Had it been Saturday I and Gary would go, I have to work Friday.
If Saturday works out, let us know.

Hum,
So I may have to choose between the regular run with Lupe as posted on the Main Forum; or, some preliminary work on the Bayou Meto Canoe Trail in Jacksonville. And only one of these requires a chainsaw...
