CADRON CREEK PICKUP & PADDLE SATURDAY DECEMBER 13, 2008
Join in the fun this Saturday, December 13, 2008, as we pick up the trash on our one mile of adopted highway next to Cadron Creek, and then paddle the Class II creek. The weather forecast is calling for 58 degrees and partly cloudy, perfect weather for playing on the famous waves of the Cadron.
FREE CARABINER to each litter picker just for helping out!
MEET at the parking lot under the Highway 65 bridge at 11:00 a.m.
BRING GLOVES! Trash bags will be provided.
LOCATION: Two miles north of Greenbrier on Highway 65 (about a 20 minute drive north of Conway). You will pass an asphalt plant on the east side of the highway (if you come from Conway) just before you get to the bridge. Go over the bridge to the north side and drive all the way up the long hill. At the top of the hill you will see a brown Arkansas Game & Fish Commission sign that says Cadron Creek Access with an arrow that directs you down a paved road to the east (Ozark Drive). Go all the way to the end of the pavement and you will be in the parking lot under the bridge.
I'll be leaving Little Rock about 9:30 a.m. from the K-Mart parking lot on Rodney Parham Road if you want to follow me there. Let me know if you plan to meet me there.

Good news! The paddling trip will be from Cadron Creek Outfitters down to the Highway 65 bridge, 5 miles of very playful Class II water. A big thanks goes out to CCO for opening up for this event.

Well, I've been pretty cooped up here at the house for the past few weeks, so a day outside sounds like a good idea to me.
I know the Captain is still nursing a sore back (and for some things, even
Aleve is not enough)...so is anyone else planning to go who also plans to wet a paddle? I'm coming from Little Rock and can carpool/and/or I just need to know whether to bring my boat and gear. Otherwise I might just carpool with the Captain...

Not sure yet.... I was thinking of maybe looking for the Bertha waterfall, geocache. Got some things going I must finish first. Any others for a hike instead of float after trashin'?
You sure this is on the right channel?

Captain, I'm planning on helping and then either float or hike, depending on what's happening afterwards. I'll come prepared either way. Both sound fun. I'll try to be at K-mart before 9:30 am. If I don't make it, I'll see you at the bridge.

Capt. Aleve:
Sorry I'll miss it...I'd love to help, but I have a lunch banquet to attend on Saturday. Glad the weather will be good for all of you and I bet there might be a trip to Joe's Pizza in there somewhere as well.
Happy Holidays.

Hey guys, I just got back from working in that area. The creek is VERY muddy at the 65 bridge. At the Pinnacle Springs bridge the water seemed as clear as normal. There must be something bad going on in the area
