Looking for a one-car shuttle at Norfork River below the dam to confluence; or possibly a White River, Cotter to ? shuttle over the Thanksgiving weekend. Please PM me with a name and phone number if you know a local shuttle source in the area.

Uh, maybe we can help you out, Rob. Gonna be off for five days and probably staying close to home in Heber Springs. Got any specific time and day yet?

Being the cheapster that I am, I have in the past put the canoe in the water at Norfork by the boat dock, driven down to Calico Rock (parking under the bridge) or Allison (parking at Angler's Resort) and thumbing my way back to Norfork. White hair pays off when you are hitchhiking.

Richard, it's not the age, but how ya look... they just drive on by me... Roger, thanks for the offer, but you can stay home and do chores as the folks who run the gas station below the dam have lined us up a Norfork shuttle. We WOULD take you up on a LLR float or shuttle however, one of these days I'd love to see Pangburn again and come fly fish down your way. rob

Rob, I am going out of town over the Thanksgiving holidays, so I wont be around, but next time I probably could help out with a shuttle as I live on the river across from the Cotter launching ramp. It is the place with the red roof and all the canoes, kayaks and miscellaneous boats sitting around.

Clif, you know you would be invited. Depending on the timing, could be a meal at the outfitter's house to top the day off!

Yup, I meant LRR, been so long since I've been there, like amost 20 years! There were stretches where the fly fishing was so awesome, but the dock and streamside development pressure was on, even back then. Would love to hear how it is these days. How's the scenery, how's the fishing?

Rob, it's still a pretty river that gives up some big fish.

Docks are still common (probably more than when you were here last). Seen some destroyed with the levels that came through recently.

Lots of development around the highway accesses. River Ranch Resort is a high-end private community in development. Swinging Bridge Resort is probably not long for this world as we know it. Lots of buildings (2-3 stories high) in small enclaves, cul-de-sacs, etc. around the Hwy. 110 bridge there.

At Pangburn, you got straight-line developments on all four sections that create the intersection of the river and Hwy. 110 there.

Come on down. We'll find a place to put you up.
