Has anyone run, or know of anyone, that has floated the Little Buffalo from Jasper to the Buffalo? What kind of run is it, etc.?

I'm not sure, but I'd sure like to find a piece of land along that stretch! I hoping to get up there this winter and look for a place to retire.

Haven't done it but would expect that it's been done. Probably be a nice float with excellent small-mouth possibilities. At normal levels, would not expect much action. Could be wrong tho!

Three years ago, the municipality of Jasper was releasing raw sewage into the stream. Think they fixed it as I know it got reported.

I'll bite on this one also. I too would like to know about the river and the floating from Jasper down to the 'Big Buffalo'. Several years ago, I was the shuttle driver and put Mike Coogan, Mike Stanley, and a couple more guys in at Jasper one afternoon to float to a low-water bridge some miles downstream. They seemed to have a good trip but even I could tell it was pretty low when I saw them scrapping off to a start at Jasper.
When we were getting the shuttle fixed, I was shocked by the sight near their take-out, at or near the bridge. The locals living on the bank farm there had positively lined the bank in a river bend with automobiles. side-by-side, nose down the bank. From the looks of the vehicles, all in the 50's&60's, it looked like they had been there for a while. Still interested in the float and some way to guess the best levels.

4 or 5 years ago there was a large group of us (36 I think) paddlers, most all recreational from all over staying at Ozark and striking out each day on different sections.

One of the days, there was a small group that did the Jasper to Buf float, and two of them were these two guys from TX with 16-17ft sea kayaks We ran the Ozark to Erbie (i think?) section that day and on the morning shuttle, I saw them go under the bridge as you turn off of hwy 7 and I figured we would never see them again. That is a really narrow twisty creek if I remember.

you can put on up at parthaton, take out just below jasper, or at a low water bridge above the pruitt bridge,on the maintance road, or go all the way down to hasty...

Just noticed your post about floating the Little Buffalo as Marc and I have been in South Carolina on the coast for the past three weeks. Anyway, the Little Buffalo is, as someone mentioned, very similar to the Buffalo. Not difficult at all and very scenic once you get past the "Arkansas River Art" the first half mile. Actually, I think several of the antiques vehicles must have floated away as there were not too many left. A few cabins and houses along the way and one low water bridge that will sneak up on you that you really need to walk, but overall, a very nice little stretch. We live about a half mile from the put-in at the Jasper bridge, so anytime you might like to float it, let us know. It can be floated when the Buffalo is at a good level. If it should come up and be good to float, we will post and see if anyone is interested.
