FYI: Many of us drive Chevy trucks. I just had my instrument panel on my 2004 Silverado go out. It turns out it was an item that Chevy had problems with and offered a "Special Extended Warranty" on, but didn't advertise. They replaced it for free...

I've had mine replaced also. I didn't have any issues but got some recall infor in the mail and luckily I knew someone who hooked me up before my mileage fell out of the warranty range.
