I've seen some of this on the website in very long post and was hoping to get the simple version. Is there anything particular on Nov 4th that I should or shouldn't vote for as someone who very much enjoys the outdoors, especially its waterways?

Most everyone has been reading intently the Proposition 1 stuff. There is another post on this MB about it to explain it further.

The way some of the propositions were written I'm surprised the typical citizen could decipher what they were actually voting for or against -- certainly beyond the reading comprehension of the average American (note: the average reading level of American parents of young children is 7th or 8th grade -- 25% of all Americans are high school drop-outs). Moreover the propositions were written that a vote yes could actually be a vote against and a vote no could actually be a vote for -- I think this explains why all propositions won in the affirmative, i.e. a "yes" vote.

But alas it is all over. It's a historical moment for both the country and the ACC message board -- an entire election cycle has passed us by without any political pandering here within this forum. An impressive display of restraint.
