Do people ever float the Little Mo at lower levels? I hiked through this weekend and most of what I saw looked runnable, even though it's more than a foot lower than the desired whitewater level.

I cannot speak for the Albert Pike to 84 Bridge section, but the 84 Bridge to Hwy 70 bridge I have floated numerous times. At 3.5 you will have a little dragging in some spots but it is definitely floatable. It usually takes about 4-5 hours and is about 11 miles I believe. Beautiful area in there for sure.

The answer for most on this board is probably "no", but, hey, we'e not the whole world, just a very small piece of it. Years ago I remember talking to someone about this and learned that there are boy scout troops and locals who will go float it at whatever level they find it. I know of at least one case where some got into trouble because they had floated multiple times at levels most of us would consider "too low to float", considered themselves "experienced" because of multiple successful runs, then found they had more than they could chew when they got on the river at a "normal" floating level.

I know I've ran some stuff at lower levels and had a good time. In fact, it would have probably been easier to paddle than Chattooga IV at the low end of the runnable level. lol Anyway, I was just amazed that nobody was out enjoying the river.
