Please help save the Tellico and Calfkiller gauges in Tenn

Post by ditchbitch » Sat Oct 25, 2008 4:31 pm

The Tellico and Calfkiller gauges.

Are in trouble in Tennessee, this affects 31 virtual gauges. I don't think many want to drive from Arkansas to the Tellico on a guess.

So here is what has happened in the last couple of days....

I just talked via e-mail with Mr. Gain from the USGS. Btw he is a very helpful man.

Those letters you have been writing are working! We now need to put the pressure on.

First:

We need to write Mr Gain expressing our concerns. He forwards the letters to his boss, to show what a bad idea it is to cancel those gages. It got their attention and they are looking at the budget again.

Second:

Write those letters to:

Senator Lamar Alexander and Gov. Bredesen Office…it’s been working,AND they have been giving heat to the USGS.

After that… write to other officials and agencies…

Third:

This really helped... Alex Z of Chota and the rest of members raised $500 dollars to donate to gage funding for the Tellico. $500 isn’t much? It sure is!. It proved that the boating community really meant it when we said those gages are important. It has lit a fire on the USGS to get going and help figure this out.

So.

PLEASE WRITE THOSE LETTERS!

Information and form letters can be found here.It only takes 10 mins max...just copy and paste.
