Another day, another rapid.

Post by Big Daddy D » Fri Oct 24, 2008 2:03 pm

Yes, today's rapid of the day should have actually been yesterday's rapid of day. I'll explain.

When I told my daughter I'd posted up the Lower Narrows of the Cache La Poudre river on her 9th birthday she was very disappointed. I asked why the long face and she said, "Daddy, for my ninth birthday you should have posted Rapid #9 of the Zambezi." Doh. What a Homer!

So Happy Belated Birthday, Aubrin.

I doubt anyone around here has run it (and if you have, kudos), but if you were just wondering how to get there this weekend, I looked it for you to save you the trouble.

Here's the cheapest itinerary:

Little Rock to Houston (Continental Airlines)
Houston to London (Continental)
London to Johannesburg, South Africa (Virgin Atlantic)
Johannesburg to Livingstone, Zambia (British Airways)

$3,378.20 round trip

Let me know if you book it.

Seems a little steep since you can fly to South African for ~$1200.
Though you'd still need to get a connector flight since you gotta be ballsy to rent a car and drive.
