Fall foliage?

Post by Karla » Thu Oct 23, 2008 5:46 pm

Would like a report on the fall colors in your areas. Is any at or close to peak. Gary and I want to take a drive either this weekend or next if the colors are there.

Does the foil in the trees scare off birds or something?

I have noticed no foil. Would be hard to see in the dabs of color in the mostly green leaves.
You sure this is on the right channel?

I went to Eureka last Sunday, most of the yellow and dark red was there but not the orange yet. I went out to Hawksbill Wed. about the same, looks like a mixture of green and orange, took the dirt roads through the hailstone and then out thru Red star to get back to Fay. It seemed that the drive back from Red Star to Elkins was the prettiest. This Sunday should be great prob hit the buffalo area up again maybe hike like ponca to boxley on the buf. river trail.

By the way the house right at the beg. of boxley/ponca area is getting completely redone. Should look pretty sweet this spring. Also the fences across from that house are all gone, looks like someone is trying to get it back to nature a bit.
...Well I guess theres nothing wrong with what you say, but don't sell me their can't be better ways..

Not quite full up here in Pea Ridge. Heading to the Elk this weeknd, hoping these last few cold days will kick it in gear. I will post pics when I get them on my computer.

We're going to be crusing the Arkansas River from Morrilton to Little Rock this weekend  . Probably very little change yet, but planned for a long time. I'll take a lot of pictures (especially of any foil) :poke: .

Color up Crabtree way has a good start. In my purely unscientific opinion, if this week reaches the predicted lows around 30 degrees, it oughta get a good kickstart.

There's still a lot of green in the Ouachitas, but here's a few shots from last weekend...

Rockport area is beginning to turn. While we were out there yesterday surfing it was beautiful. I also plan to head over to Lake Catherine state park area..I'm betting the leaves there are beginning to put on their show as well.

We drove through Albert Pike and Little Missouri Falls and got pictures on Sunday. Took our granddaughters. I will post some pictures later.
