If you're using ultra-light tackle, I like to use either a Heldon's clear 'Tiny Torpedo' or a Fred Arborgast black and silver 'Jitterbug'. Both baits in the smallest size. :)

Best Regards

Paddle,

Another suggestion would be the where to fish. The river is currently at 5.69 and with no rain in the immediate forecast, I recommend either of the float sections below Glenwood. I really like the opportunities on the 8 mile or so section from the Ark. G&F access at Glenwood to the Hwy 182 bridge near Amity. Other suggestions would be the 5.50 mile trip from 182 to Hwy 84 or the 6.5 mile trip from 84 down to Amity Landing on the upper end of Lake DeGray. Good luck and happy fishing

That should be just fine. Although I like fishing with ultra-light tackle, I routinely outfit our reels with #6 line to avoid the losses I have experienced with #4 line. The baits I mentioned come in three sizes I think, maybe the medium size with the stiffer rig and heavier line.
One other bait I failed to mention are the Rapala minnows, both solid and jointed. Good luck and please post a trip report later :)
