Paddle for the Cure Report

Post by Crane » Mon Oct 13, 2008 8:54 am

If you didn't come out Saturday morning for the Paddle For The Cure, you missed a beautiful day!! Best count is somewhere near 50 paddlers were on the river supporting the Race. In addition, the Arkansas Boathouse Club had a beautiful 8-place shell on the river, too! What a beautiful sight it was... all those boats being watched and waved to and hollered at by thousands of Race participants! Then, when it was over, the paddlers and rowers were greeted with a great brunch at the ABC facility right above the take-out ramp! Good folks, good food, and a very good day to be on the water!! One of the race participants that I know saw everyone in the river and specifically mentioned the rowing shell as well. She really enjoyed the turnout and show of support and passed on her appreciation of the boaters and their efforts.

yeah my mom and a couple of her friends went and they said they especially liked the boat with the pink ribbon around the cockpit and on the boat. Its great to see paddlers gathering for a great cause.

Our school's office manager participated this weekend as a supporter. In the office this a.m. she told our schoool therapist, "He (meaning me) should have been on the river that morning!"

Said it was one of the coolest things to see during the event!
