AGFC just added this lake to its collection. On most maps, I see it as Mud Lake but locals call it Coal Pile. Its a backwater off the Arkansas River where steamboats use to stop to refuel. Its between Hwy 65 and Hwy 165, off 212, between Pendleton and Gould. Open for fishing, no hunting. Had the former state record Largemouth Bass at over 13 pounds before current record holder was caught at Mallard Lake. Excellent birding as well.
