Re: Sugar Creek
boy did we ever....
it was an experience. i think gauge might have been a little lower than 2 when we put in but we honestly didnt even look at it til we took out. there were a ton of downed trees...including a couple in some baaaaad spots. i was leading the way around a really narrow corner and bam, soon as we made the turn, TREEEE... had to ditch the boat and got pretty banged up recovering it. but, made it out without losing any gear. it was definitely fun though, just really hairy with all the strainers.

Ahhh, a good ol' spoon full of Sugar. Class 2-3, until you see the inevitable and often unavoidable strainer. And if the trees don't get you the bridges might! Wish I could have been there for some full-contact playboating.
Glad you guys are on the Internet now telling the tale!

Re: Sugar Creek
yeah i'd say 75% of the run was class III+ just because of the trees. it was like, ok lets take this chute through the bushes and hope nothing is on the other side....it was like paddling down steep rapids, through a cornfield! couldnt see anything, getting wacked in the face, and then coming out of the other side just to realize your heading into a drop with a log across it. intense!
Re: Sugar Creek
yup, last time we ran it below 2 feet there were a few nasty logs in nasty places. One in particular that has been there for a long time that is not bad if it is 2 feet and above, but below that and it is dangerous. I had to do a kayak ramp move and barely teeter tottered over it.
