Oh now, I watched it twice and thought I saw a double secret super-hydromatic inviso-loop on the left side of the hole. Pay closer attention next time. It's hard to divert your attention from the raft.

if you didn't catch it, watch it again... the point of the video is at about 30 second mark, the guide falls out and her ankle is snagged in the chicken line (hence she's under the raft). the guest actually saves her and goes back to surf. sweet.
How long is the drive?

Wow! She's lucky he was still in the boat and had enough sense to free her.

Interesting historical fact No. 1: ARG was on the Upper Gauley the day that video was shot, having run the Lower Gauley the day before.

Interesting historical fact No. 2: The rapid in the video is Pure Screaming Hell on the Lower Gauley. The hole at the bottom (Hell Hole) is the same one that surfed Cap'n Downstream and the Dib for a little while the day before (he claimed he was forced over there because the ARG paddle boat got in front of him and cut him off).

P.S. Wouldn't "Cap'n Downstream and the Dibs" be a good name for a band?

Historical fact: Pure Screaming Hell was one of the few holes/undercuts that the ARG paddle raft did not get precipitously close to that day, thanks mostly to our close proximity to the sterm of raft #49. I can see now why our rafts did not have chicken straps.
