As has happened the last few years, a number of boaters will be Paddling For The Cure on the Arkansas River in support of the Race For The Cure on October 11th.
In addition, Arkansas Boathouse Club members will have rowing machines(ergs) setup beside the RFTC Course. Donors are being sought who are willing to pledge a nickel per meter erg'd and the ABC will also accept donations on site. 100% of the Ergʼn for the Cure funds will go to the SGK Foundation. They'll also have one of their beautiful 60ft. rowing
shells on the water in the downtown area.
Plus, there will be a free brunch following the Race for all paddlers, rowers and support personnel at the Arkansas Boathouse Club on the North side of the river beside the Alltel Boat Ramp just under the I-30 Bridge at the head of the NorthShore RiverTrail. There will be coffee, juice, egg dishes, and snacks. Paddlers & public are welcome to join us during and after the SGK event. The ABC facility will make a good gathering place for racers meeting up with non-racers!! Check the message board for update info at ArkansasBoathouseClub.org. So where and what time do the paddle people meet? Will the shuttle be set before or after?
