Terry - if you can't find yours, I added some links for the ones we use.

Susan had to travel to where they were having a dengue fever outbreak as part of her job a couple of years ago. She was told she couldn't take liquid DEET on board an airplane, so I got here these DEET towelettes which are individually wrapped, and approved for travel. Best I could get and think they still are. Susan said they were so effective you could keep reusing them several times if you kept an openned one in a zip lock, and even cut them in half to let someone else keep their own wipe. Susan shared with everyone who traveled with her. Threw in the second link if you wanted a smaller amount.

http://www.fisco-elvin.com/buinrewiwide.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; 52.5% DEET

http://www.drugstore.com/qxp192114_3331 ... 0_deet.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; 30% DEET, free shipping over $25

The two 100% DEET liquids I use are:

http://www.amazon.com/Maxi-DEET-100%25- ... B001ANQVXQ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.luckyvitamin.com/item/itemKe ... .yahoo.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

You may find them cheaper somewhere else, but those are the links I had if you want to read up some. Bottle goes with me in my ammo box when ever I paddle - spring, summer, fall.

Eric

Dango dango, this is the first time Ive seen this thread. I hope you get to feeling a lot better Richard. Got some news that might cheer you up a little.
I rowed my raft for the first time from Carver to Woolum last weekend and it was awesome. I hiked up to the top of the Narrows and the view was spectacular. I thought of you during that time as I did a lot on that trip and wished you was there. Get better buddy and lets go paddling.

Thank you Ryan for your kind thoughts. Right now I don't think I could hike to the top of a pebble without becoming exhausted. This really has been the pits. I hope everyone learns from my mistakes. This ain't no fun.

Just a thought Richard but do you suppose the doctor who diagnosed you reported the incident to the CDC? Seems they could put out a warning about our brand of ticks and the gifts they are leaving behind.

As I said before Richard this really upsets me. A fellow like you who has done such a wonderful series of events for us, making one and all welcome and sharing your knowledge.

Life just ain't fair, is it?!?

Paddlegal, Life is what it is. Overall it has been better to me than I have been to it.

Since I was treated at UAMS, I as sure it was reported. For some reason they got all excited about my eyes appearing blood shot. I don't know why. They asked if they could take pictures of them. I told them they always were blood shot but then they may have been extra bloodshot that day. I didn't see the pictures.

I wish they didn't conclude my kidneys were beginning to shut down. That catheter was a real bummer.
