I have notified channels 4, 7, and 11....but if others called it would probably help get them out there. Not sure how seriously they take a "news tip" from the organizer of the event.
So......thanks for volunteering to do that Karla

OK, Jeremy. I sent news tips online to Kark and Katv. Still trying to get the KTHV site to work for me at work to send them a story about this.
I may have to call them when I am not too busy.

Any way to work the NPR angle? They're fund raising right now; maybe some type of challenge donation to other boaters to BOTH donate and come out and join Paddle for the Planet?
Or a radio announcement of free loaner boats to the first 10 (or pick another number) who meet the challenge donation?

I like that idea too Cowper. Thanks for checking in with them to see if they'd be interested in covering the event.

Really hope things went well for you guys. A marathon day yesterday... not running but 2 events I had to be at... and I was skeered to commit. Coulda contributed other ways like Karla came up with. Regrets we did not come be a part. Kudos to all that did. and big time to Jeremy.
You sure this is on the right channel?

Thanks Jeremy for putting this together. It was great! Let's make it an annual event to keep folks aware of th great water we have in Arkansas, and all the threats to it.
And thanks to all the volunteers and the Arkansas Parks folks.

Final Count on the water was 160....not too shabby.

I will post a full report and the paddle for the planet website will change over to reflect the event itself. Right now I have to get some sleep...Canoe school is coming up and that should be fun too!!!
Thank you to everyone! The turn out was wonderful , volunteers were AMAZING, and the weather cooperated...hopefully rain will bring up the Mulberry so canoe school will have good water...

Channel 11. Check out Channell 11 website. Shannon and Cowper good pics of them and some others in their boats. I recognized Peggy Tilley in the group one on the water.
