Glad to hear the good news, hopefully she comes out of this with nothing worse than a story to tell her kids someday.

Just can't believe Deanna's quick and apparently complete recovery! Thank God! I've prayed; I've been on pins and needles all week; and I've checked the message board as often as possible for updates. When she developed a fever, I was fearful, but she is a real fighter! Thanks ever so much, Mark, for your continued updates! They were appreciated by all! We celebrated her recovery as we floated yesterday, thrilled not to have anyone who needed rescuing!

Wonderful news again. Prayers surely work. I will try to stop by and pay her a visit and meet this girl when I go back to work on Tuesday at ACH.

Hello All! Deanna's mom here... wanted to let everyone know how thankful I am, still, and continually, that ACC was on the river that day.
More than six years later, Deanna is surviving and thriving. Every year on her "unbirthday"/anniversary of her accident, she does something special as a reminder that she is still alive. One year she signed up on www.bethematch.org. Other years, she donates blood or does a service project. Deanna lives her life as any 24 year old, working full time. Miss Survivor also regularly volunteers at an homeless facility as well as fostering assorted animals.

She has yet to be back in a canoe, but I think that s from lack of opportunity rather than fear.
She lives her life being kind to all she meets and helps those that can't do for themselves.

Thank you for everything,

I just read through this for the first time. Your daughter has an amazing story. My oldest spent a week unconscious in ICU years ago. Those are scary times, but she is well today. It's amazing to see how kind, competent people show up when you need them. So glad your daughter is well after all of that!
