Good start to a loooong shuttle but it's ok. Saprised to see a foreigner at the put in, with a sleepy dog. Thanx to Bob and Richard for more of the neverending Buffy info and the lost mine. Had a bunch of ducks take flight not far from us. Even tho I was waiting for the shot, point and shoot jus didn do it, wonder if mom will let me bring her slr???? prolly not.

Cool to make the Cabot connection. Conner the next rock skipping champ and sun tan Sam. Sorry, "this boat is stupid" Mary. Thanx for the paddle buffet, Eric. Karla never showed us that roll. Lance was... well he was there. Jan skipped on the storage fee?

Cool watchin the beaver from beaverjaw gravel bar. I wonder if the 2fun shrank thru the winter? Pretty sure my pfd did.
wonderful day, wonderful friends. PTL!

I am home from three weeks of being on the Buffalo. Here are the pictures I took of the day trip. It includes the not so busy beaver and Bob Stout at the Jackpot mine. The beaver dam washed out when the storm came thru a momentarily raised the Buffalo about three feet. I have been back since then and it appears the beaver are rebuilding.

Richard - thank you for doing all the work you do, and thank you for posting the pictures and video clips. Wow, y'all were close to that beaver.

I will have to stop at the mine next time if my knee is better.

Will definately go when the red Buckeye's are in bloom, as this section has hundreds if not thousands of them, and almost none below HW 14.

I had never seen the ghost face before, so clear in your pictures.

Looking forward to our next trip together.

Eric

Richard,
Thank you so much for sharing the pictures and especially the video clips. I always enjoy your posts. Can't believe how close you were able to approach that beaver to get some of the videos. Did you let the water drift you into where he was feeding or did you paddle in?

We were right behind them in some of those shots. Bumping boat close. Beaver didn care at all we were there. Came right toward us in the vid where it does the dive. Probly sees so many canoes.

We were in the mouth of the creek that was dammed. Had to come in thru a channel from the river and around a log lying there. So had to ease up toward the dam from the main river channel. Most of the area was shallow with gravel bottom.
You sure this is on the right channel?

I was there again yesterday, but did not see any sign of the Beaver. Maybe I'll have better luck Saturday when I go back.

I came across a mesh bag with a Harmony spray skirt inside. I think I ended up with it from this trip. If you are missing one or know whose it is, please let me know.
